Highlights
PRINCE2 7th, (Yes my name is in there, again as official Reviewer)
Yes PRINCE2 7th is new and great and still PRINCE2, so less detailed, less presctiptive. more adaptive/agile, a bit of greenwashing and focus on People (new chapter just like in MoR). And finally a Project Log (that is like my excel with seperate tabs having all the logs and registers combined)
When applying the pratices give attention to Project Context (the world around your project). Meaning:
- Organisational context, (Business, Portfolios and Programmes)
- Sustainability context SDG's by UN), also Product, Delivery and Benefits sustainability
- Commercial context, Business/Customer, (multiple) Suppliers
- Delivery method Preditctive/Lineair, Adaptive/Iterative/Agile, Hybrid,
- and Project Scale.
In Short Principles (7), People, Practices (7), Processes (7), plus 9 Management Approaches (in People and Practices)
7 Principles,
- Ensure continued Business Justification, Benefits > Costs
- Learn from Experience, Learn from others and Share learnings
- Define Roles, Responsibility and Relationships, Project Roles and Stakeholders
- Manage by Stages, Step by step
- Manage By Exception, No news is good news, bad news travels FAST
- Focus on Products, Define and Deliver Output
- Tailor to suit the Project Look at Project Context, make a good fit (apply PRINCE2 to work for you)
7 Practices,
- Business Case
- Organizing (Organization) Project Roles and Project Ecosystem (stakeholders)
- Plans Stages and product bsed planning
- Quality Process and product quality
- Risk Old school process, I would prefer to use MoR 4 more clear and up to date
- Issues (change) Dealing with Issues and Cahnges
- Progress Using Tolerance, Reviewing, Reporting, Lessons Learned and dealing with Data + Info
7 processes,
- Starting Up a Project Do we really need to do this?
- Directing a Project Decisions
- Initiating a Project Prepare your self for exctuion, make sure you have a good fundament
- Manage a Stage Boundary, So all stakeholders together we go to take the next step (or not, we stop))
- Controlling a Stage, Make sure we arrive and prepare for the next step
- Product Delivery, The most important part and the most fun, create, realize and deliver output/Products
- Closing a Project Finish up, leave no loose ends and CHEERS we are off to ..... and the users are able to realize the benefits
9 Management Approaches So think about an approach (a way of dealing with) Communication, Change, Benefits, Commercial, Data, Issue, Quality, Risk and Sustainability
