Autoimmune Problems Increasing?

A friend told me that she had suffered from a viral infection and that her lungs were severely scarred. The lung damage is what I want to talk about.

Tissue damage results in large amounts of cellular debris spilled into the blood stream. Too much for the normal cleanup system.

Our immune systems are designed to prevent genetic material from affecting another organ.

This results in an increase in autoantibodies for the damaged tissue. That's the next step in an autoimmune condition.

Lingering or recurring lung problems might indicate that those autoantibodies actually were attacking healthy lung tissue, not just debris.

A modern approach to calming autoimmune attack is called Oral Tolerance. Another, much older, method uses a class of supplements called Protomorphogens.

Both work in similar ways: they act as decoys for autoantibodies and intercept them in the digestive tract so they don't attack healthy tissue. Both can be used for many autoimmune conditions.

With the Covid infections from this last year, will we see an increase in autoimmune problems?

I know this information is on the technical side, but I wanted to arm practitioners and patients with additional tools.

Multiple "A Games" At The Same Time

Looking back, I don't know how I did it. Those Ph.D. years. Grad student, husband, father, competitive athlete. Pretty much achieved my "A Game" throughout.

These days...not so easy.

I suspect most of you play your "A Game" in your craft. But do you find marketing your craft easy? I certainly don't.

There seems to be a tension between the two, competing for my time and attention.

Trying to be a fantastic marketer of my craft seems to take away from being the best at what I do: teaching and coaching healthcare professionals at the highest level.

Do you find that promoting yourself and how you can help people takes away from being the absolute best at what you do?

Let me know in the comments.
