Marlena Merrell is a competent professional with a strong ability to work effectively in crisis situations and offer support to individuals in distress.

With over 4 years of experience working with domestic violence and sexual assault victims, Marlena has honed her skills in providing assistance and empathy to those in need.

Having spent nearly 9 years as a juvenile probation officer, Marlena possesses a deep understanding of both offenders and victims, allowing her to navigate complex issues with compassion and insight.

Marlena has a Master of Science in Criminal Justice and Corrections from Sam Houston State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and Corrections from Lamar University.

Her professional journey includes roles such as Project Coordinator at Prairie View A&M, Domestic Violence Victim Advocate at The Crisis Center, Safety Specialist at Total Safety US, Inc., and Juvenile Probation Officer at Matagorda County.

Marlena has also served as a Safety Attendant at United Safety, a Seasonal Park Ranger at Eleven Mile State Park, and as part of the Rock Solid Character program at Team Synergy/Rock Solid Character.

She has developed and conducted training programs on domestic violence and sexual assault for new employees and volunteers, showcasing her leadership and knowledge in these critical areas.
