I started reading The Crossroads of Should and Must by Ella Luna. This book asks the pertinent question, "What if Our Job = Our Career = Our Calling".

I have been #intentional in my work and am in a career that I thrive in. My passion for helping others grow in their career led me to being a Career Coach and building programs that support forever #growth. Coding Temple has provided me the space and ability to curate the ongoing sound board, a safe space, and a strong community for all those seeking a career transition into tech.

What's it like to have all three? A job that is comprised of a career that leverages your calling. It feels like I'm not working. It feels like I'm doing what I love.

How hard is it to get here? Very. #impostersyndrome is real. But with the right support and an internal #hustle, you can do it. I didn't know what I was doing until Blake Williams snapped it out of me.

All this to get you to think, are you doing what you love?

Cutting cost. Reorganization. Lack of work. Some of this stems from the lack of planning or the mistakes in the excitement that paved the path for overhiring. There are so many reasons why layoffs happen. I’m saddened by the number of posts that fill my LinkedIn expressing pain, loss, and desperation.

As a career coach, I’ve seen the struggles of job search and know it takes strong determination to push through the hurdles placed in front of you.

It’s not your fault. Take a deep breath. Update your resume. Use your resources and ask for help. Don’t let rejections discourage you, instead let them fuel your fire.

Coding Temple provides lifelong job search support. We have curated a space that believes in continued education and an abundance of resources. If you have any questions, reach out.

To all my prior students and alum, you’ll always have me in your corner. I'm excited about the new endeavor you weren't initially pursuing. Lmk how I can help.
