Martijn Winkler, born in 1978, is a renowned writer, director, and producer, and a founding partner of VERTOV. With a career spanning since 2003, Martijn excels at crafting compelling narratives that bridge online, cross-media, and linear storytelling realms. His work has garnered international acclaim and numerous awards, such as two Rose d’Ors, an Emmy, and a Webby, showcasing his commitment to innovative storytelling with a societal impact.

Martijn's series SWIPE (2018) shed light on the impact of mobile technology on modern life, stimulating conversations on device ownership. His recent project, Heat, a climate change thriller, became the most awarded short-form drama globally in 2021, prompting discussions on our readiness for the future challenges. Currently, he is immersed in the production of a feature film, Headliner, scheduled for release in 2024.

Apart from his creative endeavors, Martijn holds key positions in various prestigious organizations, serving as a former chairman of the Dutch Directors Guild, a board member of FERA (European Screen Directors), and a part of the Advisory Board at VU University Amsterdam, among others. He co-founded VERTOV and plays a pivotal role as creative director at Coebergh Communications & PR in Amsterdam.
