Prof. Martin Barth is a distinguished lawyer and the current President & CEO of World Tourism Forum Lucerne. He has a strong academic background, having graduated from St. Gall University in 1990 with a licentiate in jurisprudence (lic. iur. HSG).

With over three decades of experience in the legal and tourism sectors, Martin Barth has held various key positions in reputable organizations. He started his career with Mövenpick in 1994 and advanced to become the Secretary General, overseeing multiple departments and playing a vital role in trademark rights and acquisitions.

In 2001, he transitioned to a new role as the tourism director before moving to academia. Martin Barth was appointed as the chair of 'Tourism and Mobility' at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, where he currently leads the faculty of tourism as a professor, specializing in strategic management, service marketing, and hotel management.

Since 2006, Martin Barth has served as the President & CEO of the World Tourism Forum Lucerne, where he continues to contribute significantly to the global tourism industry. He also engages in consulting roles focused on destination promotion and hotel management, enhancing his impact and influence in the field.
