Marty Lenard

Assistant Professor and Chair of Music - Schreiner University

Marty Lenard is an accomplished Assistant Professor of Music in the Division of Visual and Performing Arts at Schreiner University, recognized for his dedication with the Faculty Excellence in Service award.

With a strong educational background, Mr. Lenard holds bachelor's and master's degrees in music education from Texas State University and is currently working towards his PhD in Instrumental Music Education at Auburn University.

At Schreiner University, Marty Lenard serves as the Chair of the Department of Music and the Director of Bands, showcasing his expertise and leadership in the field.

His experience extends to the Texas public school system, where he notably directed bands at Tivy High School in Kerrville ISD and was a standout candidate for the HEB Young Teacher of the Year award.

Lenard's research interests encompass areas such as music performance anxiety, ensemble programming trends, and motivational factors influencing individuals to pursue graduate degrees.

In addition to his academic roles, Marty Lenard has been actively involved as a conductor in the Hill Country area, collaborating with institutions like the First Presbyterian Church Kerrville, Playhouse 2k, and the Fredericksburg Theater Company.
