Gary A. Martz Jr. is a Senior Director of Advanced Technology Standards for Intel Automotive, focusing on advanced EV power standards, automotive chiplet standards, and software-defined vehicle (SDV) standards.1 His career at Intel spans several decades, beginning as a manufacturing engineer for Intel's original server business unit and including roles in various divisions such as the Client Group, Data Center Group, Intel Labs, Wireless Communications, Reseller Channel Group, Industrial Solutions, and Intel Foundry.1

Martz has held numerous industry leadership positions. He currently chairs SAE J3311 and represents Intel on the board of directors at RISC-V International.1 Previously, he represented Intel on the boards of directors for The Open Group, the Open Connectivity Foundation, the Open Mobile Alliance, the Wi-Fi Alliance, and the steering committee for the OPC Foundation's Field Level Communications Group.1

In addition to his work at Intel, Martz serves as a part-time lecturer and a member of the External Advisor Board for the University of Washington's Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering.1 He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Washington (1995) and an MBA from the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business (2000).1

Martz is also an inventor, having filed for patents to protect various inventions, including one related to audible authentication for wireless network enrollment.2
