Met with the largest SaaS company in the world yesterday.

$30BN+ in revenue and still finding ways to increase performance, customer satisfaction and experience.

It shows we’re in a time where retention is everything, driving renewals is a leading KPI and making platforms accessible and affordable is imperative.

We’ve been joining the dots between Lemon and this company for the past couple of months and it’s starting to line up and become a reality.

Not only is this a cause for huge excitement but solidifies the proposition we’ve been tirelessly working on for the past 12 months and proves that it solves a significant pain point for SaaS companies, no matter what their size.

Can’t wait to share more 🍋

“Can you help us finance this…it will save us £400k”

I was asked this by a pretty big company about 2 months ago.

Whilst I was flattered they thought Lemon was at a stage to do so, it was just simply unachievable given where we were at in product development.

The financing part of our business is arguably the most significant value proposition to both buyer and seller of SaaS, however, the mechanics of making that work in the early days made it difficult to launch as a first product.

We needed to raise credit lines to fulfill those cash advances — these required a certain amount of capital from Lemon, which we’d need to raise in equity, to the tune of £3.4m (plus what we needed to build the product) which last year, we just couldn’t raise due to market dynamics and risk. (Pre rev, pre product, pre everything) it was a real chicken and egg pain.

So we made moves to get a product into the market to get customers, gain SaaS insights and get data that would help us raise those credit lines whilst still providing value to customers (this is the Lemon subscription tracking product)

Behind the scenes we’ve been working very hard to launch the financing. We have customers reaching out nearly daily asking when we can launch this, so it’s a problem that still needs fixing.

And we’ve finally found a way. A much better way. A way that allows Lemon to offer cost saving credit to more business, quicker. From what we know, we’ll also the first to do this.

We’re launching it soon, we’re going into a private beta in June with 2 pretty big customers, so the aim is to bring this product to market by September at the latest.

I actually cannot be more excited about it.

Stay tuned.
