Matt Brehaut is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the legal and corporate sectors, specializing in investment funds.

Having trained at Clifford Chance in London and New York, Matt qualified as an English solicitor in the Private Funds Group, with a specialization in establishing institutional closed-ended investment funds, particularly in private equity and hedge funds.

During his tenure at Clifford Chance, Matt gained expertise in advising on fund derivatives and the structuring of various fund-linked products while being seconded to ABN AMRO's investment bank legal department.

Transitioning to a front office role at ABN AMRO in 2007, Matt continued his work on structuring a diverse range of institutional fund-linked products and later expanded his advisory services to include structured funds post the RBS takeover.

Currently, as a senior associate in the corporate team at Carey Olsen's London office since May 2016, Matt focuses on corporate and investment funds matters, with a strong emphasis on structuring and launching investment funds.

Matt Brehaut provides comprehensive advice to funds, fund service providers, and fund promoters on all aspects related to the establishment, regulation, and operation of investment funds.

His educational background includes a Bachelor's Degree in Law with a 2:1 from Oxford University, and having studied at Elizabeth College in Guernsey.

Throughout his career, Matt has held notable positions such as Director at Royal Bank of Scotland and Associate at Clifford Chance LLP.
