Highlights
The last time UK investors got to claim EIS tax relief by backing a business at seed stage with James Watt running the show it was BrewDog and that was 10+ years ago 🚀 🍺
You most likely missed that opportunity (like I did) but no reason to miss out this time around with his new business, Social Tip, opening up the chance to join James and the team early on in the journey via their funding round on Crowdcube.
Also participating on the same terms are investors like Haatch and Steven Bartlett - with 700 people joining the round just today. (and yes you can claim 30% tax relief if you are a tax payer in the UK)
Follow the link in the comments to view the opportunity.
Risk warning: don’t invest unless you’re prepared to lose all the money you invest. This is a high-risk investment.
Generally I am a big fan of earlier stage companies punching way above their weight with clever brand placements.
Our friends at SunGod pulled an absolute worldie by dropping off a shipment of their ski goggles to the changing rooms of both Northampton and Bath for this weekends Premiership Rugby Final for the champagne spraying that now follows victory. The wearing of ski googles in the changing room has come over from US sports and the NBA.
The media coverage and player interviews that followed all appeared to contain SG's brand and this long tail of coverage carried on for days (See The Guardian article in the comments below)
(I can confirm they also work excellently in the snow but have not yet tried them with the fizz! )
Did anyone notice them in the media coverage that followed?
Chapeau Ali Watkiss and team!
