Matt Koskela is a highly accomplished multi-time bootstrapped tech founder and CTO, known for his track record of two 8-figure exits. Currently on a professional sabbatical to focus on family and explore new creative endeavors.

As the Co-Founder & CTO of HackEDU, Matt revolutionized security training for software engineers by creating interactive and hands-on secure coding training using Docker. The company was successfully bootstrapped for 5 years before being acquired by a private equity firm in 2021. Under his leadership, HackEDU grew significantly, serving over 300 customers ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies and impacting tens of thousands of developers worldwide.

Prior to his role at HackEDU, Matt played a pivotal role at AirMap as the first employee, where he led product and engineering efforts, rapidly expanding the team to 25+ engineers and PMs. He represented the company on a global scale, forging partnerships with key industry players and regulatory bodies. AirMap was later acquired by DroneUp.

At Giant Media, Matt spearheaded the launch of one of the earliest native advertising networks, enabling top global brands to create engaging content distributed to a vast audience, resulting in hundreds of millions of views for their videos. The company was successfully acquired by an adtech firm in 2014.

Matt Koskela's professional journey also includes roles such as Engineering Consultant at Walt Disney Animation Studios, Founder at Simple Sky, Marketing Strategist at Feed Company, and Software Engineer at Vance Capital Management. He holds a background in education from Azusa Pacific University.
