Highlights
Some professional news: I just finished my final month at Simplecast, where, for the past six years leading product, I helped to build an incredible platform for podcast creators. It’s so hard to move on, but I’m ready for a new adventure.
I want to take a moment to thank Brad Marxkors and Stephen Hallgren (aka Teevio) for starting this journey when the industry was beginning to thrive and Simplecast was just getting started: What if we could make it easier and more enjoyable for podcast creators to distribute, market, promote and monetize their shows? After two years of building new ways to measure advanced analytics with the amazing small and mighty Simplecast team—you know who you are—we were acquired by SiriusXM during a historic time of maturation for the industry. Alongside my awesome teammates across AdsWizz, Stitcher, and Pandora, we helped grow and distribute some of the largest podcasts in the industry and I’m so proud of the work we did together. I think you all rule.
What's next? Summer and family time. After a short reset I’m excited to start helping more early-stage founders (or any companies) who are building big ideas in either podcasting, music (I’m not done with helping creators and the people who support them), running/cycling tech, sustainability/climate, or one of the 10,000 new things I get obsessed with every minute.
Please reach out if you have any interesting ideas or opportunities. I can’t wait to get into something new. For now I’ll be Rubin Recommending (https://lnkd.in/eAqpiWcj).
Matt Rubin Excited Forever
I'm proud to be an angel investor in Chiyo. I personally witnessed the magic of their type of offering after my wife gave birth and I am so excited to watch them scale, enabling more people to access this food as medicine during their fertility, pregnancy & postpartum experience.
