Highlights
Being brilliant for our customers every day... This is our mission at Direct Line Group - and as I've said before in previous posts, this is easy to say, difficult to do. But we are making some big steps in encouraging a customer obsessed culture. One of these leaps is something I wanted to shout about today as it's a game changer for us.
As part of our recent move to our new London hub at Riverbank House, not only have we created an amazing space to encourage collaboration, but we have built a brand new facility to help us get closer to our customers. Introducing our new 'User Research Suite' - two fully tech'd up rooms that will enable us to talk to customers, listen to what they want, and use that to inform where and how we focus out attention on improving their experiences.
In these rooms we've created a cosy environment where our Experience Design user researchers can talk to customers, with full observability using some very clever audio and visual tech.
Over the next few weeks we will be running several sessions with customers and encouraging DLG people to come and observe, to hear and see the pain points that our customers are encountering. As many of my network will know, there is nothing like hearing it straight from customers - and I know this is nothing new, but it's a real leap forward for Direct Line Group in the way that we build customer testing into our ways of working.
Building our User Research Suite has been a real labour of love over the last year. From early conversations convincing people this was the right thing to do, site visits to other brands that have done something similar, through to spec'ing out the kit, choosing the furniture, pictures, lighting, plus establishing all the business processes needed to safeguard customers that will be visiting us. It's been challenging at times, but I am so proud of my team and the wider DLG team that persevered to help bring this together. I am now looking forward to making customer testing a habit at DLG - demonstrating the real value that a facility like this can bring and help us truly get closer to our customers. Particular thanks to Darren Hunt Bruce Brassington Will Chan Will Morrison and the rest of the DLG team 👍 #experiencedesign #UX #customercloseness #userresearch
