Career coaching and resume writing might be seen as somewhere in between interesting and boring. And I am fine with that.
People often engage with my solutions when they need a job or want to advance their careers, which can make it somewhat interesting but not necessarily a hobby or obsession for most and, thus, boring. And I am fine with that.
I compare my line of work to that of lawyers and doctors. You only go to them with a need. We are necessary evils, lol. And I am fine with that.
We aren't bright, shiny iPhones, or the latest and greatest single from that band you love. Sooooo you aren't going to tell everyone about us. With us resume writers/career coaches, you just mention us when someone brings up the need. And I am fine with that.
But, we change lives and help people with succession planning. Now THAT's 𝙨𝙚𝙭𝙮 𝘼𝙁. And I am fine with that.
People say we're in the human resources business. Nah, we're in the human services business. And I am fine with that.

𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗦𝗧 𝗖𝗔𝗦𝗘 𝗦𝗖𝗘𝗡𝗔𝗥𝗜𝗢: When Work Becomes a Burden & The Dangers of Skipping Professional Career Support 🧭 We often think of our careers as a journey, a path we follow to reach our dreams. But what happens when that path takes a wrong turn? What if, instead of finding fulfillment and success, you find yourself trapped in a job that drains your energy, leaving you with nothing to give to the people you love most?
Imagine Sarah, a talented and ambitious professional. She was always the go-getter, the one everyone believed would soar to great heights. But after losing her job during an unexpected company downsizing, Sarah was left with a broken confidence and no clear direction. She believed she could navigate her career transition on her own, without seeking professional help. She told herself, "I know my skills, I’ll figure it out."
But as the months passed, her job search led her to positions that barely matched her qualifications, offering little growth or fulfillment. With each rejection or silence from prospective employers, Sarah's self-worth began to erode. Bills piled up, stress levels rose, and she found herself accepting a job far below her skill set—just to keep the lights on.
In her new role, Sarah worked long hours for little pay, with no sense of purpose. Her evenings, once filled with laughter and quality time with her family, were now consumed by exhaustion and worry. She barely had the energy to play with her kids or hang with her partner. Weekends became a blur of catching up on household tasks she no longer had the bandwidth to handle during the week.
This was not the life Sarah had envisioned. Her once bright and hopeful spirit...crushed. She missed the days when she felt challenged and inspired by her work. She missed the joy of coming home, proud of her achievements, and ready to share her happiness with her family.
But what Sarah missed most of all was HERSELF—the vibrant, confident person she once was, before the weight of the wrong job crushed her spirit.
Sarah's story is not uncommon. Too often, jobseekers try to navigate career transitions alone, believing they can figure it out without professional support. But the reality is that going it alone can lead to a faulty work-life balance that spirals out of control.
Professional career support isn't just about finding a job; it's about finding the RIGHT job—the one that aligns with your skills, passions, and life goals. It's about ensuring that your career trajectory is on the right path.
When you invest in career transition support, you’re not just investing in your professional future. You’re investing in your overall well-being. You’re ensuring that your work supports your life, rather than consuming it.
Don’t let your career path lead you to a place where you lose yourself. Get the support you need to find the right job, the right balance, and the right life. Because in the end, it's not just about your career—it's about YOU 🫵
