When even my Mum is talking about AI (over lunch this weekend) it really has taken hold in all our lives. How well it is understood is slightly more debatable (sorry Mum), and when it comes to using it in our businesses in the supply chain and beyond there is still a lot to learn.

If you are planning to join us in May at #GartnerDA in London where I know it will be a hot topic - make sure you join our session to hear how customers are using #AI to drive decision support, augmentation, and automation – maximising value and minimising human bias. Seeing how AI drives the tangible value that BI only promised, is very powerful.

If you’ve spoken to me in the past 2 years or so I am likely to have said at some point, ‘it’s no longer about the task, it’s the decision <that counts>’. Reflecting on a week with customers new and established..what strikes me is that it goes beyond that..it’s really about the ‘action’.

So many of us in our work lives have become swamped with Insights. It’s easy to be busy learning more about the problem, but value only really gets delivered when we make decisions and execute them.

It would be an interesting study to consider how many decisions you make in a day versus how many you action! In my mind the shorter the gap between decision making and execution, the more effective the overall process. For me, that’s why I see #decisionintelligence playing such a big part in future transformations across the enterprise, with its ability to automate the decision making process and ensure all that insight is turned into value!
