Matthew Baum

Matthew A. Baum is the Marvin Kalb Professor of Global Communications and Professor of Public Policy at Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government and Department of Government.15 He received his Ph.D. from UC San Diego in 2000.12

Baum's research focuses on:

His work has been published in numerous scholarly journals, including the American Political Science Review, American Journal of Political Science, and the Journal of Politics.13 Baum has authored several books, such as "Soft News Goes to War" (2003) and "War and Democratic Constraint" (2015).12

Before joining Harvard in July 2006, Baum was an associate professor of political science and communication studies at UCLA from July 2000 to May 2006.4 He is also co-founder and principal investigator of the Harvard Kennedy School Misinformation Review and the COVID States Project.15
