Furthering his experience in data analysis, Matthew served as an analyst intern for CarMax’s Core Pricing Systems Offsite team during the summer of 2021. This position allowed him to apply his academic knowledge in a real-world setting and delve into the intricacies of pricing strategies in the automotive industry.
In addition to his internships, Matthew demonstrated his commitment to education by working as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant at Georgia Tech's College of Computing, where he not only contributed to the teaching of foundational courses such as CS2316 (Data Manipulation for Engineers) but also took on the role of Head TA for one semester. Currently pursuing his Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Matthew is expanding his knowledge base and deepening his expertise in areas such as supply chain management and operations research, while also engaging in research projects that seek innovative solutions to complex engineering problems.
Involvement and Extracurricular Activities
Outside of the classroom, Matthew is an active member of the Georgia Tech community. As a Drum Major for the Yellow Jacket Marching Band, he not only leads performances at various events but also cultivates teamwork, discipline, and leadership skills among fellow band members. His passion for music is further manifested in his participation in the GT Symphonic Band, where he plays the saxophone.
Matthew values physical activity and maintains a well-rounded lifestyle through participation in sports such as soccer, football, volleyball, and frisbee. These extracurricular activities exemplify his teamwork skills, leadership, and ability to maintain a healthy work-life balance.
Moreover, Matthew is a proud brother of the Iota Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi, a national honorary band fraternity. Initiated in the Spring of 2018, this involvement provides him with opportunities to connect with peers who share a passion for music and community service, fostering strong relationships and enhancing his leadership capabilities.
As a person dedicated to community engagement, he previously served as a counselor at Camp Barney Medintz, where he worked with young campers, helping to develop their skills and confidence in a supportive environment. Additionally, as a Madrich (Teacher's Assistant) at Congregation Dor Tamid, he played a significant role in youth education, embodying his commitment to guiding and inspiring the next generation.
