Matthew Hanson

Matthew Hanson is a quantitative analyst with a strong focus on solving unique and complex problems. He has applied mathematical and statistical methods to analyze counterinsurgency operations, with significant experience acquired from two deployments to Iraq as an operations research and systems analyst. Matthew has also published three academic papers on related topics, showcasing his expertise in this field. His knowledge includes a deep understanding of computational methods in probability and statistics. In terms of education, he attended Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology for his high school studies, pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree at Naval War College, and obtained a B.S. degree from William & Mary. Throughout his career, Matthew has held several significant positions in various organizations, including being a Deployed Operations Research and Systems Analyst at both Leonie Industries and the Institute for Defense Analyses. He has also served as a Predoctoral Fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research and as an Adjunct Staff Member at the Institute for Defense Analyses.
