Matthew Hickey

Associate Director

Matthew Hickey is a dedicated individual who aims to inspire people to care about the planet through exploration, innovation, and education.

He holds a Master of Arts (MA) degree in International Relations and National Security Studies from Georgetown University, a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Geography from the United States Military Academy at West Point, and has also studied at Cretin-Derham Hall.

With a diverse set of experiences, Matthew has held various roles in different organizations, including being the former Associate Director at the Ted Stevens Center for Arctic Security Studies, a Free-Lance Writer, a former Legislative Assistant, and National Security Advisor at the United States Senate, as well as an Instructor at Georgetown University.

Additionally, he also served as the former Commander of the World Class Athlete Program at the US Army and held different roles as an Army Officer within the US Army.

Matthew Hickey's journey reflects a blend of academic achievements, military service, and professional experiences that have enriched his understanding of international relations, security studies, geography, and education while fostering a deep commitment to environmental preservation.
