Matthew Maslanka is the owner of Maslanka Press and the son of renowned composer David Maslanka. He is a multifaceted professional in the music industry, serving as a clinician, publisher, music engraver, performer, and composer.12
Born in New York City in 1982, Matthew grew up immersed in his father's musical world. He began assisting with his father's work at a young age, eventually becoming skilled in music engraving by the age of 14. This led him to engrave virtually all of his father's compositions from that point forward.2
In 2012, Matthew founded Maslanka Press to publish his father's works, dedicated to producing high-quality, affordable editions and promoting David Maslanka's music.2 Following his father's passing in 2017, he established the David Maslanka Foundation with his siblings to preserve and promote his father's musical legacy.2
As a music engraver and copyist, Matthew has worked on various prestigious projects, including preparing music for the LA Philharmonic, Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, and commercial projects like the Academy Awards and "The Incredibles 2".2 He holds performance degrees from Michigan State University and Indiana University, and has performed as a euphoniumist and trombonist on Broadway and with New York's Chelsea Symphony.2
