Founder of Noble Story Group

Matthew Taylor is the founder of the Noble Story Group, specializing in adaptive leadership coaching and professional development based on Emotional Intelligent Leadership Theory in the education realm and beyond.

He serves as a meta-coach, program faculty member, and contributes content to Daniel Goleman's Emotional Intelligence Coaching Certification Program. Additionally, he is a regular contributor to Goleman's coaching blog and Primer series on Morethansound.net.

With 13 years of experience developing school leaders and 25 years in K-12 education, Matthew Taylor guided leadership development at Achievement First. He focused on senior network leaders, principals, and other leaders, aligning leadership recruitment with core competencies.

Previously, he founded and led the ARC-credentialed Residency Program for School Leadership at Achievement First, fostering district-charter partnerships to drive adaptive change in district schools. Taylor designed comprehensive training, coaching, and assessment structures for over 40 school leaders.

Matthew Taylor's career began at Amistad Academy Middle School, where he later became principal and established it as the top middle school in Connecticut for African American student achievement.

His educational background includes a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Administration, Policy, and Social Planning with Principal Certification from Harvard University Graduate School of Education, and a Bachelor's degree in History from Carleton College with a Concentration in U.S. Political Economy.
