Maura Keefe

Dr. Maura Keefe is an accomplished professional in the field of dance, with a rich educational background and extensive experience in various academic and artistic roles.

She holds a PhD in Dance History and Theory from the University of California, Riverside, a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Choreography and Performance from Smith College, and a Bachelor's Degree in Dance and English from Hobart and William Smith Colleges.

Dr. Keefe currently serves as the Director of the School of Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies at the University of Maryland, showcasing her expertise in academic leadership and arts administration.

Prior to her current position, she held the role of Scholar in Residence at the prestigious Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival, highlighting her esteemed reputation in the dance community.

Her diverse experience includes serving as a Dance Writer in a freelance capacity, showcasing her ability to communicate effectively about the art of dance.

Dr. Keefe has also held significant academic positions such as Associate Director, Chair of the Department of Dance, and Graduate Director at The College at Brockport State University Of New York, as well as being an Assistant Professor at Ohio University.

With a strong blend of academic knowledge, artistic talent, and leadership skills, Dr. Maura Keefe continues to make a valuable contribution to the field of dance and performing arts.
