Mauricio Charbonnier is an Argentine composer and pianist known for his tonal compositional style and interest in traditional musical forms like Symphony, Concerto, and Sonata.

Charbonnier's works have been performed in prestigious venues worldwide and have been commissioned by orchestras in Europe and Latin America.

He founded the Ensemble New Romanticism and the New Music of the Americas project to promote contemporary music from living composers in the Americas.

One of his notable compositions, 'Sacred Songs,' a song cycle for soprano and piano inspired by religious texts, premiered at a tribute concert for Pope John Paul II's centenary in Poland and was broadcasted live on Polish national television.

Charbonnier's music has been featured by orchestras like the Zapopan Symphonic Orchestra, Antofagasta Academic Orchestra, Castvlum Symphony Orchestra, UFBA Symphony Orchestra, and the National University of Art Symphony Orchestra.

He has collaborated with renowned soloists and chamber groups in international premieres and festivals across the globe.

In August 2020, Charbonnier released his latest album 'The New Music of the Americas,' featuring chamber works by him and a repertoire of Argentine and Latin American music, which garnered attention on global classical music platforms and was in consideration for a Grammy nomination.

Charbonnier is set to be a Residence Composer at the University of Northern Colorado in 2022 and serves as the Artistic Director of the Association of Argentine Composers.

His academic background includes studying piano interpretation at the Berklee College of Music in Argentina and instrumental teaching at the Conservatorio Superior de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires.
