Mauricio Cordova is a dynamic individual deeply passionate about leveraging open innovation and technology to tackle societal and environmental issues, with a keen focus on generating widespread positive impact. Notably, he clinched the prestigious MIT Solve 2019 award, propelling his endeavors with a substantial US$250k in innovation grants. Cordova holds a US Patent for a groundbreaking low-cost method of water purification using readily available plastic bottles. His academic journey spans across continents, with full scholarships enabling him to pursue an MSc in Operational Research from the esteemed London School of Economics and Political Science, complemented by a BA in Economics from The University of Texas at Austin. Originating from Peru, Cordova has cultivated a rich tapestry of experiences having resided, worked, and studied in countries including Chile, the US, England, Germany, and Spain.
