Maxime Bayen is a dedicated husband and father of 3, currently spearheading venture building and startup sourcing efforts at Catalyst Fund while also co-leading Africa: The Big Deal initiative.

Educationally, Maxime holds a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Management from ESSEC Business School and studied Business Administration and Management at Tulane University - A.B. Freeman School of Business, among other ventures in VC fund structures and returns training at 500 Global, as well as workshops on venture capital, business angels, and startups at INSEAD.
Throughout his career, Maxime has held pivotal roles in various organizations, including being an Operating Partner at Catalyst Fund, an Advisor at BuuPass, an Investor at Time for the Planet, and playing key roles at several other startups and consulting firms within the telecom, tech, and digital industries.

A quick look back in the mirror over the past few weeks is a fantastic reminder of how lucky I am to work with such amazing people around me.
In the past few weeks, I have taken planes, trains, I have spoken at conferences and spent time in beautiful Naivasha, I was hospitalized in Nairobi for a few days (no worries, I am back on my feet), I talked about space-based tech for climate actions... and many more. But always surrounded by brilliant colleagues, portfolio founders, investors and friends... and that trully is the most amazing part of this work.
