Maxime Bayen is a dedicated husband and father of 3, currently spearheading venture building and startup sourcing efforts at Catalyst Fund while also co-leading Africa: The Big Deal initiative.

With a strong passion for the impact of entrepreneurship and technology on economic development, Maxime has immersed himself in the African startups ecosystem for close to a decade, serving as an enthusiastic investor and advisor for numerous startups across the continent.

Maxime's current focus lies in innovative solutions that help African populations adapt to the challenges posed by climate change.

Educationally, Maxime holds a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Management from ESSEC Business School and studied Business Administration and Management at Tulane University - A.B. Freeman School of Business, among other ventures in VC fund structures and returns training at 500 Global, as well as workshops on venture capital, business angels, and startups at INSEAD.

Throughout his career, Maxime has held pivotal roles in various organizations, including being an Operating Partner at Catalyst Fund, an Advisor at BuuPass, an Investor at Time for the Planet, and playing key roles at several other startups and consulting firms within the telecom, tech, and digital industries.
