Maya Shugart is a dedicated professional with a diverse background in non-profit management and public programs.

Maya completed a Non-Profit Management Certificate Program at Baruch College, City University of New York (CUNY) and holds a B.A. in Writing, Literature & Publishing with a focus on Photography from Emerson College.

Currently serving as the Senior Manager of Public Programs and Engagement at El Museo del Barrio, Maya has also held roles such as Public Engagement Manager at Friends of the High Line, Public Programs Coordinator, Youth Programs Coordinator, and Public Programs Intern at El Museo del Barrio.

Her experience extends beyond El Museo del Barrio, including positions as an Administrative Assistant at Spruce Street Nursery School, Volunteer Coordinator at 826 Boston, Visitor Services at Museo de las Americas, Curatorial Intern at the Museum of Contemporary Art/Denver, and Development Intern at Denver Film Society.
