Wondering what Career Coaching with Meg is like?

Over the years, I've honed my coaching to cover the most important pieces to help people who are in career transition. Often folks want to see, as one of my clever coachees put it, "What the container looks like, that the coaching sits in."

So here's a bit more about it!

I'm a trained career expert and coach, and my approach mixes coaching to boost self-awareness with mentoring for hands-on guidance. We start by diving deep into your career goals and what you hope to achieve. As we shift into action, I'll guide you, offering advice and frameworks to clear the path ahead. We'll keep checking in to make sure we're on track, adjusting as needed.

This is perfect for anyone looking to hone their personal narrative, switch roles, improve interview performance, or figure out why things aren't clicking. I've worked with VPs, Directors, Individual contributors, and recent university grads across design + tech worldwide, customizing our sessions to fit what's most useful for you.

You can also feel free to DIY this as a guide for yourself! :)

Career Transition Coaching (6 Sessions)

Session 1: Your Career Narrative We'll discuss your career history to build a narrative linking your current expertise to your future role. Explore both practical and reflective elements, like resume content and personal motivations. You’ll leave with homework to draft a summary for your Resume and LinkedIn.

Session 2: CV/Resume + LinkedIn Revamp During these sessions, we'll refine your resume with live feedback, focusing on content, format, syntax and keywords, targeting your ideal role + companies. Homework will involve finalizing these updates and preparing case studies for your portfolio.

Session 3-4: Portfolio/Presentation You'll tailor your portfolio or interview presentation to appeal to your target companies + roles. Session three will be a practice run and feedback with myself. In session four, you'll present to one of our seasoned design coaches for feedback and questions. Final step: incorporate all the feedback into your interview-ready presentation.

Session 5: Job Mapping Together we'll analyze and strategize your job search by mapping out target companies, discussing best ways to apply and approach, and leverage network contacts. Homework includes initiating contact with top 3-5 companies.

Session 6: Flex Session Customize this session to further any previous topics or explore areas like additional job mapping or interview practice, based on your needs.
