Social Innovation & Impact Investment Strategist
Megan Christenson is an experienced professional in the field of social innovation and impact investment. She founded The Lean Jane, a lean innovation and impact investment strategy firm, in 2017.13 Through this venture, Megan has collaborated with leading organizations in social impact and innovation, including Acumen, REDF, the Experience Institute, and SMALLIFY.12
Prior to founding The Lean Jane, Megan served as the Senior Director of the Civic Accelerator at Points of Light, which was later acquired by Acumen Fund in 2019.13 In this role, she oversaw startup recruitment, program design, curriculum delivery, and venture development.1
Currently, Megan holds the position of Senior Portfolio Manager at REDF, where she leads portfolio management for the REDF Impact Investing Fund (RIIF).23 This role involves supporting employment social enterprise borrowers and enhancing RIIF's impact in the social enterprise community.2
Megan's educational background includes an MBA and MA in International Environmental Policy from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies, as well as an undergraduate degree in International Studies and Spanish from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.12 She is based in Chicago, where she also teaches yoga and leads pizza tours in her spare time.12
In addition to her primary roles, Megan serves as an Adjunct Faculty Instructor at Loyola University Chicago, where she designs and instructs the MBA capstone course on Strategy and Leadership for the Baumhart MBA Program.3 She is also an Accelerator Instructor for Acumen Academy.3
