I did earlier this year and mine were curious to understand exactly what I do at Amazon...but I think they liked the free Nestlé Nespresso SA+ bananas more!
Lucky for me I am doing impactful work that I believe in, sourcing as sustainabily as possible... empowering customers to make better purchases that impacts both people + planet!
Back to Bangkok & spending time with Quantic School of Business and Technology and The Progression Group.
The space allowed for powerful conversations and deep thought.
I didn't expect to be so inquisitive SEAs digital policies or ACTERA journey of navigating regulatory changes and scaling at speed.
It's the second time I've seen Joshua Morris speak about the teams involvement in the cave rescue 14 years ago. It is as powerful as ever but my key take aways were:
-
Hot Wash: (named after the hot air rushing out from the helicopter) At the end of the day / project / week reflect. How did it go? What could be different or better?
-
A cave analogy: You can only see as far as your light shines. The only way to see more is stepping forward step by step.
-
Everyone needs a Steve: that person who is your biggest cheerleader and doesn't hesitate to call you out on your bull s#£*.
Maybe the most important part of all was the reminder to do something different. Go meet the new people, go learn new things.
In the words of Joshua Morris ...
What are you doing to fuel your progression?
Today...I am spending time with my family and talking about what 2024 has in store for us all ✨
