This past Sunday, I had the pleasure of speaking at a career insights panel alongside May Chin from Zalora, Kenneth Chan of The Uncle Chan, and Sam Ng Wei Zheng from JobStreet. This event was part of Jobstreet Singapore Singapore's largest career fair, which featured over 80 employer brands and drew more than 10,000 job seekers of all ages. It was invigorating to be in such a dynamic environment, especially since I haven’t been job-hunting in a while.

Our discussion covered several key topics:

🚀 The Future of Work in the Digital World:

We explored the effects of remote work, the role of LLM AI, and the impact of digital tools.

💻 Technology as a Competitive Advantage:

We examined how embracing technology can boost productivity and career prospects, including the importance of e-learning and staying ahead of emerging disruptions.

🔑 Digital Skills for Relevance:

We discussed essential skills to develop for career advancement, such as what to learn for career shifts and what to retain for lifelong learning.

These subjects were top of mind for everyone involved in the digital economy.

I highlighted three crucial skills for thriving in the future digital landscape:

1️⃣ Technical Digital Literacy: A deep understanding of various digital platforms—like TikTok, Google, and Meta—function and interact with consumers and businesses.

2️⃣ Storytelling: The ability to convey digital analytics clearly and compellingly, making sense of online trends and data for business decisions.

3️⃣ Online Attention: Skills to drive traffic and revenue through digital channels for both B2C and B2B companies.

❤️ It was heartwarming to connect with audience members afterward, many of whom shared their personal experiences of navigating the digital economy.

One audience messaged me this:

✨ "My biggest takeaway was to focus on complementary skill sets rather than just following trends." ✨

This encapsulated the essence of my sharing on the panel and reinforced the importance of developing well-rounded skills for the digital future - no mater which career stage you are in!

Thanks for the opportunity to share and congrats to the team on a successful fair! Magdelin Tan and Rachel Foo 🙏

Alert: media and marketing agency founders!

Any recommendations of boutique performance media agencies in Bangkok that has top tier talents and strong client track record working with B2C brands (ideally FMCG)?

I'm sourcing for a digital agency interested in potentially acquiring a media agency to support their growth in Asia.

🙏 Thanks in advance, you can privately message me as this post is for my connections only. 😀
