With a background in Health Services Administration from the University of Michigan and a Bachelors in Biology from Indiana University Bloomington, Melanie brings a strong educational foundation to her work.

Having joined Operation Mend in 2008, Melanie played a pivotal role in its growth and success by collaborating with UCLA Health and the Katz Center for Collaborative Military Medicine.

As the first hire for Operation Mend, Melanie led the multi-disciplinary team to ensure top-tier medical and psychological care for wounded warriors and their families.

Melanie's dedication extended beyond Operation Mend as she represented UCLA in initiatives like the Warrior Care Network and The George W. Bush Institute's Warrior Wellness Alliance.

Her efforts in connecting Operation Mend with various stakeholders led to the program's expansion and increased support.

In addition to her work at Operation Mend, Melanie also served as the Executive Advisor for UCLA Health Sound Body Sound Mind, a program aimed at combating childhood obesity and promoting healthy lifestyles in schools.

Currently, Melanie serves as a private consultant, utilizing her expertise to benefit clients across the nation.

She is actively involved in organizations like Stop Soldier Suicide and the Iraq Afghanistan Veterans of America, contributing her insights and guidance to support veterans and prevent suicides among service members.
