Melchior Huurdeman is a prominent figure in the world of music journalism and television production.

Starting his career as a classical piano student, Melchior transitioned into writing for the music magazine Entr'acte after his studies.

He then went on to work as an editor for the prestigious Volkskrant newspaper for a span of two years, showcasing his editorial skills and knowledge of the industry.

In 1993, Melchior made a significant move to Vpro television, marking the beginning of his impactful journey in television production.

His career highlights include serving as the editor-in-chief of Reiziger in Muziek from 1994 to 2000, followed by a tenure as the editor-in-chief of radio 4 NPS for a year, demonstrating his versatility across different platforms.

Melchior's expertise led him to join Vrije Geluiden as an editor-in-chief, contributing his creative vision to the program.

He has also been involved in producing programs for Vpro's Moondive, North Sea Jazz, Ring des Nibelungen, and R.A.M, showcasing his diverse production portfolio.

Apart from his television work, Melchior has created three documentaries focusing on prominent figures in the music industry like Rogier van Otterloo and Klara Wurtz.
