Melinda Chen is an Assistant Professor of Women's and Gender Studies at the University of Oklahoma with a strong advocacy for rape victims' support.

Her expertise lies in researching and advocating for sexual violence policy reform, making her a valuable asset in the field of victim advocacy.

Melinda has a diverse educational background, including a PhD in Women, Gender & Sexuality Studies from The University of Kansas, MA in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies from The University of Kansas, and a B.A. in Global Liberal Studies concentrating on Law, Ethics & Religion from New York University.

Her research interests span a wide range, including Sexual Violence/Rape, Queer of Color Critique, U.S. Welfare Reform, Public Policy, Transnational Feminisms, Taiwan, Feminist Ethnography, and Queer/ing Methodologies.

She is actively engaged in studying and promoting Queer of Color Critique, Neoliberalism, and diverse feminist perspectives through her work.
