Melissa Buckley is the Director of the California Health Care Foundation (CHCF) Health Innovation Fund, where she leads one of the nation's pioneering investment funds within a philanthropic foundation, focusing on the Medicaid market.

With extensive experience at the crossroads of health care and finance, Melissa has spearheaded investments in over 25 venture-backed companies dedicated to the Medicaid sector, driving strategic support, facilitating partnerships with payers and providers, conducting evaluations, and navigating regulatory landscapes.

Under Melissa's guidance, companies like iRhythm, Collective Medical, Unite Us, Omada, Propeller, and Landmark Health have flourished, with iRhythm even going public, showcasing the fund's mission-driven approach and knack for identifying impactful innovations in care.

Melissa Buckley holds a BA in Human Biology from Stanford University, an MPP in Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School, and completed her High School education at Maret School.

Throughout her career, Melissa has held various roles such as Investment Consultant, Director of Health Innovation Fund, and Board Observer at organizations like Hazel Health, Nomad Health, Groups Recover Together, RubiconMD, and Landmark Health, contributing her expertise in healthcare management consulting, investment banking, policy analysis, and more.

Prior to her current position, Melissa worked as a Manager in the Healthcare Practice at McKinsey & Company, an Investment Banking professional in the Healthcare Group at J.P. Morgan, a Policy Analyst as a Summer Intern at the U.S. Office of Management and Budget, and in other significant roles.
