Magnificent, Magical Monday Post (#1)
Blessed and Happy Monday, All!
TLDR: Exciting and a bit scary—my new artist vocation and life chapter continues this week!
It’s the first Monday of my 10-day intensive in the David Lynch MFA in Screenwriting at Maharishi International University in Fairfield, IA. I’m pursuing my dream of creating movies and music with the help of Transcendental Meditation. Wish me luck, and share any questions for David Lynch for our Q&A this Thursday (I’m planning to ask about Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance--book/life philosophy he already loves). Let’s support each other in our dreams—join me next Magnificent Monday. Reach out anytime to chat, discuss ghostwriting, visit me in London, or support my life ugift registry and LIFL Foundation. Life is for living #LIFL. Love you.
+/addedum to TLDR: If you have 5 or so more minutes—promise it will be worth it!
Mondays weren’t always my favorite. Last Monday wasn’t particularly magnificent or magical, but I’m committed to changing that mindset. I used to dread Mondays, losing sleep on Sunday nights, & spending too much of Sunday unable to relax ahead of the workweek. Now, I vow to have gratitude every day, especially on Mondays!
I’m heading boldly in the direction of my dreams, beginning the 2-year remote David Lynch MFA in Screenwriting (DLMFA). I’ve written a screenplay, submitted it, & now I’m in Fairfield, IA @ MIU for the first of two fall in-person 10-day intensives in this 2-year remote program. We'll also have a Q&A with our new professor and mentor, yes THE David Lynch.
Let me know in the comments any questions you have for David Lynch, and I’ll collect them for this Thursday’s Q&A and future opportunities.
Special thanks to:
- Erika Richards: our DLMFA program, for encouraging me a year would go by fast /‘s to still apply when I missed the deadline last year & all you do!
- Daniel Nearing: our DLMFA director, for believing in me! Can’t wait for our DLMFa magic together!
- Amine Ouazzani: your TM practice you started at age 4 has enriched my own already—he we go Prof.
- Rita Toibman, my original NYC TM teacher & the whole Transcendental Meditation® family for which I’m made leaps and bounds in my life today!
- my David Lynch Masters in Film Program classmates & alum—so great to meet and start this journey with you! -Mentors--you know who you are -Specific Friends/Fam including my angel Ali + rest, you know who you are--for walking me off ledges in my mov(ing) to London, applying for DLMFA & for doing my (crazy) thang sending support, food & money!
- last but not least, thank you, David Lynch, for your dedication to TM and its power to enhance creativity, energy, and happiness.
Let's send positive vibes each other's way—and let's make today MAGNIFICENT and MAGICAL, however we can. I’d love to hear from you on a Magnificent, Magical Monday or any other day.
Stay grateful, well, and blessed. Life is for living! #LIFL. Love you.
