Michael A. Herzog

Professor of Information Systems Engineering at Magdeburg-Stendal University

Michael A. Herzog is a distinguished tenured full professor of Information Systems Engineering at Magdeburg-Stendal University in Germany where he also serves as the Vice Dean for research at the Department of Economics. He is actively involved in academia as a member of the Academic Senate and has contributed significantly as Guest Faculty at the Dept. of Computer Science at Old Dominion University Norfolk, Associate Graduate Faculty, and Adjunct Professor at Ontario Tech University, where he supports international Ph.D. and graduate programs. Herzog's primary areas of interest and expertise in both research and teaching include Educational Technologies, Human-Computer Interaction, Self-adaptive Information Systems, and IT-supported Sustainability. He is the founder and leader of the interdisciplinary SPIRIT research group and holds the chairmanship for the master's study program in Digital Business Management at Magdeburg. Prior to his esteemed position in academia, Herzog founded and successfully led three software and media technology companies in Germany and Italy. With a Ph.D. in Information Systems and an M.Sc. in Computer Science from Technical University Berlin, he has an illustrious academic background. Herzog has an impressive track record of scholarly contributions, having authored 14 books and over 70 peer-reviewed research papers. He has also played a pivotal role in organizing Academic and Business Conferences as a fellow at the Alcatel-Lucent-Foundation for Communication Research. It is worth noting that Michael A. Herzog's outstanding research endeavors have garnered numerous awards, including the Multimedia Award of the University of Potsdam in 2004, the University Research Award in 2018, and the Best Research Team Award 2020 from Magdeburg-Stendal University.
