Michael Burns is a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience in technology investing and management, having worked in both start-ups and investment funds.

He has co-founded five venture-backed tech start-ups and held managing director positions at private equity funds like Alara Capital, Guggenheim Partners, and TL Ventures.

Before transitioning to the private equity sector, Michael was a founder and Director of Business Development at Agere, which was later acquired by Lucent Technologies, and the founding chairman of Ciclon Semiconductor.

He has a diverse background that includes serving as a program manager at Lockheed Martin Naval Systems and voluntarily joining the Navy Reserve after 9/11 to support the Global War on Terror, including deployment to Afghanistan.

Michael Burns is known for his extensive board experience, having served on numerous Boards of Directors across various technology sectors like software, SaaS, semiconductor, digital media, and telecommunications.

He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School and the Jerome Fisher Program in Management and Technology, holding degrees in Finance and Electrical Engineering, and having graduated with honors as a Benjamin Franklin Scholar.

In addition to his educational background, Michael has been involved with several organizations and ventures, including advisory roles at Zilch, partner positions at Murray Hill Group, and board memberships at Curve and HashWatt, Inc., among others.
