There has been a lot of chatter recently about using Nuclear power in Australia. It reminds me of the time I spent in Fukushima, Japan documenting the Nuclear power plant disaster that happened in 2011 and is still being cleaned up.

  1. A driver passes through Namie, a village that was badly affected by the 2011 tsunami/earthquake and radiation from the nearby damaged Fukushima power plant.
  2. Irradiated television sets are stacked up on a waste site in Namie near the damaged Fukushima nuclear power plant.
  3. This shopkeeper grew vegetables in Fukushima but people wouldn’t eat them because they were grown in an area that was believed to be contaminated by radiation.

I've worked in Timor Leste on a number occasions including the time I spent documenting Tour of Duty, a play by Australian writer Graham Pitts. We traveled around the island documenting daily life, such as as this religious procession in Suai.
