Michael Edson is an accomplished professional with a diverse background in the cultural and civil society sectors.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree from Wesleyan University and has also pursued studies at Sidwell Friends School.

With a wealth of experience, Michael has served in various key roles including Advisor and Strategist at the Museum of Solutions.

His expertise extends to digital strategy, as he was a Consultant specializing in startup cultural and civil society initiatives.

Michael Edson's vast experience includes being a former Member Of The Board Of Advisors at Europeana and a Salzburg Global Fellow at the Salzburg Global Seminar.

He has also been a Fellow at the Getty Leadership Institute and a Juror for the 100 & Change program at the MacArthur Foundation.

Michael's contributions have been significant, having held positions such as Presidential Distinguished Fellow emeritus at the Council on Library and Information Resources.

Additionally, he has been involved in co-founding initiatives like the Museum for the United Nations - UN Live and served on the Open Culture Advisory Board at Open Knowledge.

His previous roles include Director, Web and New Media Strategy at the Smithsonian Institution, Chief of Information Technology and New Media at the Smithsonian American Art Museum, and Head of Information Technology, Web, and New Media at the Freer Gallery of Art and Arthur M. Sackler Gallery at the Smithsonian Institution.
