In the early days of the Covid-19 lockdown, my team at Yellowbrick faced a daunting challenge. With restrictions in place and concerns about the safety of our talent, we had to find a way to continue shooting in our studios without having people physically present. It was a puzzle that demanded an innovative solution. After weeks of brainstorming and relentless dedication, we found a breakthrough. Just a month into the lockdown, we managed to set up two fully functional studios, one in New York City and another in Los Angeles, both equipped with remote access to the doors, lights, and cameras. This achievement not only allowed us to keep our productions running but also ensured the safety of everyone involved. A significant turning point in our journey was our collaboration with Apple, who graciously partnered with us during this challenging time. Together, we utilized the cutting-edge technology of the newest iPhone available at that time. With Apple's support, we pioneered a method that would revolutionize the way content was shot – all with the device that fits right into your pocket. Our groundbreaking project found purpose in the NYU Tisch Film & Television program, where we showcased the potential of remote studio setups and smartphone cinematography. The program served as a testament to our team's resilience, creativity, and adaptability in the face of adversity. Looking back, it's incredible to see how far we've come, especially when reflecting on the progress embodied by the iPhone 15. The iPhone 15 represents more than just a device; it embodies the relentless spirit of innovation and the early adopter mentality that defined our team at Yellowbrick. We were pioneers, embracing new technologies and paving the way for a future where creativity knows no bounds, even in the most challenging of times.
