https://lnkd.in/ei3ffV9D The Future of Non-Dom Changes - Budget Representations.
At the end of July the new UK government confirmed that their first Budget would be held on the 30 October. With respect to the proposed non-dom changes their policy paper can be found here; https://lnkd.in/e3ut3ZVN This confirms that they will, as expected, be looking to introduce changes to non dom regime from 6 April 2025. The policy document does mention that "it will review stakeholder feedback provided following the Spring Budget and officials will carry out further external engagement over the summer on IHT policy design". I am yet to see any indication of new IHT engagement sessions but I note that the Treasury has opened a portal through which representations can be made with respect to the Budget (provided this is made by 10 September). This does provide an opportunity to submit comments and evidence which may have been missed in the prior 'Listening Sessions' - annoyingly representations are limited to 250 words although attachments can be submitted. Another alternative would be to email feedback to the central HMRC mailbox. https://lnkd.in/ei3ffV9D EY Private Client Services EY
