Michael Mata

Michael Mata is a seasoned professional with a diverse background in community development, leadership, and urban ministry.

With expertise in Scenario Planning, Community Conflict Transformation, and Program Design, Michael has been instrumental in the Development & Management of Community and Faith-based Programs.

He has a strong foundation in Community Youth Development, Children Advocacy/Rights, Strategic Networking & Collaboration, and Community Assessment/Field Observation.

Michael Mata currently serves as the Director of Network Engagement and Leadership Development at TogetherLA, showcasing his commitment to fostering community connections and building leadership capacity.

Previously, he held various roles including Community Impact Strategist, Urbanist, and Community-based Leadership Developer as an Independent Consultant.

Michael also has an academic background, having served as the Director of Masters in Transformational Urban Leadership at Azusa Pacific Seminary and as Adjunct Faculty at Fuller Theological Seminary.

His experience extends to roles at Compassion Creates Change, Inc., World Vision, U.S. Programs, and Claremont School of Theology.

Known for his expertise in the NCI Charrette System, Michael Mata has made significant contributions to urban development and community transformation.

His work as a Mildred M. Hutchinson Asst. Professor of Urban Ministries and Director of Urban Leadership Institute at Claremont School of Theology reflects his dedication to educating and mentoring future leaders in urban ministry.
