Excited to report that I've joined Seek AI in their mission to build natural language interferences for data, and I'm wrapping up week one!
Seek's first product is focused on natural language for relational databases -- a challenge that's captivated computer scientists since at least the '80s, but with recent advances in AI, is now getting tractable. What an amazing moment.
A massive amount of the world's information resides in the recesses of relational databases, so the potential for impact here is extraordinary. I want to live in a world where individuals can simply have a conversation with their data, instead of needing to translate their thoughts into a complex machine language to try to get an answer! (Personally, if I never write a line of SQL again, it'll be too soon.)
Solving this challenge effectively requires a blend of ML research, engineering, and HCI design -- exactly the type of multidisciplinary effort I find deeply rewarding. It's going to be a blast. Off we go!
