Michael Murphy is an accomplished Academic and Fulbright Scholar, boasting a rich background in teaching and Instructional technology within higher education. With a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Education and Instructional Technology from Marshall University, he has honed his expertise in Instructional Design, Curriculum Development, Strategic Planning, Assessment, Public Speaking, and Distance Learning.

With a passion for multiculturalism and inclusion, team-building, collaboration, strategic planning, and online education research, Michael's interests also extend to program development, accreditation review, advocating for Open Educational Resources (OER), and staff development. He firmly believes in the power of online education and research to enhance educational opportunities and instructional methods.

Michael Murphy's educational journey includes a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Secondary Education and Educational Computing, a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Business And Organizational Management, a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Education and Instructional Technology, and an Education Specialist (Ed.S.) in Curriculum & Instruction with a focus on Educational Computing, all from Marshall University and Eastern Mennonite University.

Michael has held key positions in various esteemed organizations, such as serving as the Dean of Online Learning at Bristol Community College, the Director of eLearning & Academic Technology at Central Oregon Community College, and as an Adjunct Associate Professor at institutions like Presbyterian College and University of South Carolina-Aiken. Previously, he was an Associate Professor and Graduate Education Program Coordinator at Lander University and the Associate Director Regional Campus Computing at Marshall University Graduate College.
