Michele Cannon

Michele Cannon is a migration researcher and abolition advocate with a profound focus on human (im)mobility, economies of waiting, abolition geographies, neoliberal human rights, and extraterritorial bordering practices in Latin America. She holds a Ph.D. in Geography, Migration from The Graduate Center, City University of New York, in addition to Master's degrees in International Migration Studies from the same institution and Spanish and Latin American Linguistic, Literary, and Cultural Studies from New York University. Michele also pursued her Bachelor's degree in Theatre Arts at California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo. Over the years, she has been actively engaged in academia and research, contributing her expertise to various organizations and institutions.
