Michelle Smibert is an experienced municipal administrator who became the Town Clerk for the Town of Tillsonburg on February 19, 2020.2 She has over 30 years of experience in local government administration, having worked for various municipalities including the City of London, City of Stratford, Middlesex Centre, Thames Centre, and Tillsonburg.1

Currently, Michelle Smibert serves as the Deputy Mayor of Thames Centre and sits on County Council for Middlesex County. She is also on the executive board for OSUM (Ontario Small Urban Municipalities).1 Additionally, she is a past president of AMCTO (Association of Municipal Managers, Clerks and Treasurers of Ontario) and remains involved in delivering presentations for the Association.1

Michelle holds a Masters of Public Administration from Western University and has been involved in the annual Local Government Alumni Conference planning committee.1 Outside of her professional life, she enjoys curling and golfing.1

As of November 2024, Michelle Smibert is also co-owner of a municipal consulting service called Clerks on Call.3
