#RockOnTheRock #ReadyToRock #CurlingRocks 🥌🤘 Grand Slam of Curling Nic Sulsky
I've been a diehard sports fan my entire life. The opportunity to own and build a global sport has led to the most compelling and exhilarating business opportunity I've encountered in my career.
Our corporation, The Curling Group has acquired the Grand Slam of Curling from Sportsnet. The Grand Slam of Curling is the largest annual event series featuring the greatest curlers from all over the world. As part of the transaction, #Sportsnet will maintain Canadian linear broadcast rights and will become our long-term partner as we continue to grow the game globally.
Approximately 30% of Canadians tune into the Grand Slams each year, and as niche sports valuations skyrocket, the sport of curling now has approximately 300M fans around the world. This includes strong fanbases in the United States, the UK, Italy, and across Scandinavia. Most interestingly, the sport has achieved phenomenal growth in China, Japan, and South Korea.
This represents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own and rebrand a global sport and to unify the curling world. Our group will capture the lifestyle of curling, similar to how the Waste Management Open drove new and younger fans to the PGA TOUR and to the sport of golf, and we will create a star system by shining a spotlight on the true marketability of the world’s best curlers.
Thank you to my business partner and long-time friend, Nic Sulsky, for recruiting me into this venture. And we could not have gotten to this point if not for the hard work and dedication of our partners, Jared Allen (Minnesota Vikings, Kansas City Chiefs, Chicago Bears, Carolina Panthers), John Morris, and Jennifer Jones.
The 2024-25 Grand Slam of Curling season will continue as planned with events beginning in October. Media coverage below and more updates to come.
