Her special interests lie in project management, content development, and digital storytelling. Mikki holds a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences/Journalism from New York University and has studied Journalism at the University of Minnesota.

She has been involved in various organizations, including Minnesota Women's Press, Attainable We, MPLS Green, First Universalist Church of Minneapolis, Choice Moms LLC, Be-Mondo Publishing Inc., Time Inc., The New York Times, and as a self-employed writer and editor.
