🎉 Yesterday, we celebrated my brother's 40th birthday. As I sat down with my 12-year-old twins to decide on a gift, we found ourselves debating various options. We considered what he likes, what would make him smile, and what would hold sentimental value. The discussion made us think deeply about him as a person—his preferences, his joys, and his personality.

On the other hand, there's another approach: giving cash, allowing him to buy exactly what he needs or wants. Both perspectives have their merits, and neither is inherently wrong. It all comes down to what you value more as the giver.

This got me thinking about what we do at Mandaala. Our company helps organisations recognise and reward their employees through various programs whether it is onboarding, long service awards, RnR, or special celebrations. And just like the birthday gift dilemma, our clients often take different approaches. Some prefer to handpick specific gifts or merchandise that align with their brand values, while others give their employees wallet balances, allowing them to choose something that resonates with them personally.

Both approaches are valid and depend on what the company and its culture prioritise.

So, what would you choose? A carefully selected gift or the freedom of choice?

Our Exhilarating Office Trek to Garbett Plateau (Matheran)

Last Saturday, 57 of us from PrintStop India embarked on our annual trek to the stunning Garbett Plateau in the Sahyadris. This is an event that everyone eagerly anticipates, as it provides a much-needed break from the daily grind of problem-solving and firefighting in the office. We have been doing annual monsoon treks since 13 years now.

Trekking in the Sahyadris is a truly rejuvenating experience that allows you to reconnect with nature and appreciate the simple joys in life. One of the best parts of the trek is that exhilarating feeling you get when you finally reach the top. The effort it takes to get there is absolutely worth it when you’re greeted by the cool breeze, the refreshing rains, and the clouds that seem to dance around you.

This year was extra special as we had 15 first-timers with us who had never trekked in the Sahyadris before. And the weather was extremely supportive.

If you haven't experienced a monsoon trek in the Sahyadris yet, I highly recommend you do. I promise you, it will be worth every step!
